In response to this development, Purdue’s Division of Construction Engineering and Management (CEM) is revolutionizing its curriculum to prepare our students for careers in an increasingly global-minded and fast-changing world.

We are cutting across the established boundaries of Purdue's engineering and related disciplines, working to provide students with well-rounded multi-disciplinary educations that produce the best and most diverse construction engineers on the market.

Our classes exceed the walls of the lab and classroom. Every undergraduate must spend three terms in internships, gaining valuable in-the-field experiences in the area(s) of his/her concentration. Beyond these opportunities, CEM makes learning interactive for students with programs like EPICS, study abroad, cooperative education, and research experiences. The Engineering Projects in Community Service (EPICS) matches undergraduates with local community service organizations in order to define, design, build, test, deploy, and support projects for organizations in need. Other opportunities for global education are provided through our study abroad programs, where undergraduate and graduate students travel around the globe to take classes and gain new experiences. Students also gain real-work experiences in our co-op programs, and the Summer Undergraduate Research (SURF) program is open to undergraduates looking to spend their summers working alongside professors in labs and in the field.
