Congratulations to Abdullah J. Nafakh for receiving the annual University Transportation Centers (UTC) Program's Outstanding Student of the Year Award.

These awards honor approximately 30 students at UTCs nationwide for their "notable contributions to the body of research in multi-modal, public transit, rail and road transportation, as well as their academic performance, professionalism and leadership."

The award was given by the U.S. Department of Transportation's University Transportation Centers Program and the Council of University Transportation Centers (CUTC) at their annual awards banquet.
He was congratulated by Elaine Chao, the Secretary of the US Department of Transportation, a keynote speaker of the event.

Abdullah was nominated by Professor Samuel Labi.
