Satish Ukkusuri named a fellow of ASCE

Satish V. Ukkusuri, Reilly Professor of Civil Engineering and director of the Urban Mobility Networks and Intelligence (UMNI) Lab at Purdue, has been named a fellow by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Board of Directors.

Satish V. Ukkusuri, Reilly Professor of Civil Engineering and director of the Urban Mobility Networks and Intelligence (UMNI) Lab at Purdue, has been named a fellow by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Board of Directors.

His research is in the areas of transportation networks, with current interests in data-driven mobility solutions, disaster management, resilience of interdependent networks, connected and autonomous traffic systems, shared mobility platforms, and smart logistics.

Ukkusuri was selected by the National Academy of Engineering to attend the Japan-America Frontiers of Engineering Symposium, an annual event that brings together outstanding engineers from the U.S. In addition, he was a National Academies of Engineering selectee in 2014 and received a Fulbright Innovation and Technology Award in 2015.

He has published more than 360 peer-reviewed journal and conference articles and serves as editor in chief of the Journal of Big Data Analytics in Transportation (Springer). The founding co-editor in chief of the ACM Journal of Autonomous Transportation, Ukkusuri is an active member of several national and international committees at the Transportation Research Board of the U.S. National Academies, ASCE and IEEE.
