Dr. Pujol appointed Academic Director for Research Computing

Dr. Santiago Pujol has accepted the appointment of Academic Director for Research Computing. Dr. Pujol will provide faculty perspective, vision and direction for Purdue’s activities around cyberinfrastructure for research especially the HUBzero platform and the community cluster program.

Dr. Santiago Pujol has accepted the appointment of Academic Director for Research Computing. Dr. Pujol will provide faculty perspective, vision and direction for Purdue’s activities around cyberinfrastructure for research especially the HUBzero platform and the community cluster program. Dr. Pujol will work closely with Discovery Park’s Chief Scientist and Executive Director, other individuals and groups across Purdue, and other universities and federal agencies to ensure that Purdue’s cyberinfrastructure efforts align most effectively with our faculty’s research mission and goals.

Dr. Pujol is an Associate Professor of Civil Engineering and joined Purdue in 2005. Dr. Pujol received his Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from the National University of Columbia. He received his Master of Science and PhD in civil engineering from Purdue University. Dr. Pujol’s research interests include displacement-based design of earthquake-resistant structures, response of structures to earthquake demands and impulsive loads, instrumentation, monitoring, repair and strengthening of structures, and engineering data management.
