Prof. Venkatesh Merwade is a co-recipient of the 2011 Quentin Martin Best Practice Paper Award that is awarded annually to the best practice-oriented paper in ASCE Journal of Water Resources Planning and Management. The co-authors are Sergio I. Martínez, Venkatesh Merwade, and David A. Maidment. The title of the paper is “Linking GIS, Hydraulic Modeling, and Tabu Search for Optimizing a Water Level-Monitoring Network in South Florida.” The paper appeared in Vol. 136 (No. 2, pp. 167-176, 2010) of the journal.
