CE Graduate Student wins top honor at AGU 2010 Fall Meeting

Congratulations to Sanjiv Kumar, a Ph.D. student in hydraulics and hydrology, for winning the Outstanding Student Paper Award at the American Geophysical Union's 2010 Fall Meeting.

Congratulations to Sanjiv Kumar, a PhD student in the hydraulics and hydrology, for winning the Outstanding Student Paper Award at the American Geophysical Union's 2010 Fall Meeting in San Francisco, CA. This award was given by the AGU for Sanjiv Kumar's poster titled "Future Water Resource Scenarios for USA: Effects of Land Use/Cover Change, Climate Change and Human Disturbance". Sanjiv's work investigates the role of population and biophysical factors on the change in historical land use pattern in the United States. Sanjiv's award winning poster is co-authored by Prof. Venkatesh Merwade in the school of Civil Engineering, and Bryan Pijanowski in the Purdue's School of Forestry and Natural Resources.
