Prof. Drnevich has been appointed by Gov. Mitch Daniels to represent the education position on the Indiana State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers.

In December, Prof. Vincent Drnevich, PE, received word that Governor Daniels appointed him to represent the education position on the Indiana State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers. The Board consists of seven members, one each from industry, government and education, two from private practice, one at-large member and one public member.

Prof. Drnevich, who also is the current president of the Indiana Society of Professional Engineers, believes that the most pressing agenda for the Board is to institute rules for continuing education requirements that must be followed before professional engineering licenses can be renewed. The professional and technical engineering societies in Indiana are strongly supportive of the Board implementing these rules. Thirty-three states already have continuing rules in effect.
