CE students recognized by ASCE Indiana

Congratulations to Michelle Ericksen, Jacan Habersetzer, Mackenzie Henson, and Lillian Schmidt for being recognized as 2021 student award winners by the Indiana section of the American Society of Civil Engineers.

Congratulations to Michelle Ericksen, Jacan Habersetzer, Mackenzie Henson, and Lillian Schmidt for being recognized as 2021 student award winners by the Indiana section of the American Society of Civil Engineers.

Michelle Ericksen studied civil engineering with a focus in hydraulics and hydrology. She will be continuing her education this fall at Purdue, pursuing a Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialty in hydraulics.

Jacan Habersetzer graduated from Purdue University in May 2021 with an undergraduate degree in civil engineering with a structural emphasis. He will be returning to Purdue in the fall to pursue a Master's degree also with a structural emphasis. As part of the ASCE student chapter, he was the seismic design team captain for the 2020-2021 school year.

Mackenzie Henson graduated from Purdue with a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering and a concentration in construction in 2021. She joined the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), where she held positions as Bridge Bust Chairperson and Great Lakes Conference Coordinator. Mackenzie was invited to join Alpha Lambda Delta and Phi Eta Sigma, first-year national honor societies, and was inducted into the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS). She also joined the Purdue Civil Engineering Outreach Council and participated in other outreach events on campus.

Lillian Schmidt graduated from Purdue with a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering and a concentration in structural engineering in 2021. In the summer of 2019 she interned with American Structurepoint, and in the summer of 2020 she interned with HNTB.
