Description

Graduate Engineers are responsible for the design, planning, detailing, documentation, and accuracy of engineering plans, details, sections, schedules, and reports. Graduate Engineers must consistently exercise discretion and judgment and may be responsible for meeting with clients and providing overall supervision of a project, project schedule, and other members on the project team, including outside consultants. Other duties of a Graduate Engineer regularly include writing proposals and reports, code review and interpretation, product research, reviewing projects, drafting, calculations, field measuring, and construction administration duties both in the office and in the field. Graduate Engineers are often involved with multiple projects and project teams at a given time, and may also assist their Department Manager with sales or marketing responsibilities associated with the department. Graduate Engineers may also be responsible for designing and producing Architectural documents such as architectural site plans, floor plans, roof plans, reflected ceiling plans, exterior elevations, building sections, wall sections, interior elevations, room finish schedules, door/window schedules, and stair plans and details.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
- Proficient with REVIT and AutoCAD
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Practices excellent Customer Service.
- Practices good engineering design and planning, related to their area(s) of specialization.
- Follows KJG Engineering graphic standards.
- Understands and can navigate Building Codes related to their area(s) of specialization.
- Understands Indiana Construction Design Release process.
- Aware of common building construction materials and finishes.
- Understands local building construction practices and techniques.
- Maintains integrity and represents KJG legally and ethically.
- Maintains a professional appearance.
- Verbally communicates effectively and respectfully to clients, contractors, and co-workers.
- Represents KJG Architecture, Inc. positively in public.
- Exhibits polished grammar and spelling in letters and e-mails.
- Strives to work collaboratively with co-workers, consultants, and clients.
- Prioritizes duties and stays on task.
