Sang-Yeop Shin receives Paul R. Wolf Memorial Scholarship

Sang-Yeop Shin, Ph.D. student in Geomatics, has been named a recipient of the Paul R. Wolf Memorial Scholarship from the American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS). This award is given to encourage and commend college students who display exceptional interest, desire, ability, and aptitude to enter the profession of teaching Surveying, Mapping, or Photogrammetry.
Sang-Yeop is a member of the Digital Photogrammetry Research Group (DPRG) under the guidance of Dr. Ayman Habib. His research interests focus on mobile mapping systems (MMS), Deep Learning for remote sensing, and Digital Forestry Mapping. He received his M.S. in Civil Engineering (Geomatics) from Purdue University in May 2024, with his thesis focusing on morphological approaches for forest woody debris detection using multi-platform, multi-resolution LiDAR data.
