Jie Shan, Reilly Professor of Civil Engineering, was presented the Schwidefsky Medal by the German Society for Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Geoinformation (DGPF) at the 2026 International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ISPRS) Congress in Toronto, Ontario.

Through his seminal books on LiDAR data processing, his extensive high-impact publications, and his dedicated editorial leadership in leading international journals, he has profoundly advanced global education and research in photogrammetry and remote sensing.
