Aser Eissa receives Robert E. Altenhofen Memorial Scholarship

Aser Eissa, Ph.D. student in Geomatics, has been named a recipient of the Robert E. Altenhofen Memorial Scholarship from the American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS). This award is given to encourage and commend college students who display exceptional interest and ability in the theoretical aspects of photogrammetry.

Aser received his M.S. degree in Civil Engineering from Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt, in 2023. He is currently a second-year Ph.D. student in Civil Engineering at Purdue University and a member of the Digital Photogrammetry Research Group (DPRG) under the supervision of Professor Ayman Habib. His research interests focus on photogrammetry, LiDAR, multi-sensor data integration, and AI- and computer-vision-based methods for infrastructure mapping, monitoring, and condition assessment, with applications in transportation and civil infrastructure systems.
