Prof. Nies receives Excellence in Environmental Engineering Education Award

Prof. Larry Nies has been named the recipient of the 2015 Excellence in Environmental Engineering Education (E4) Award, given annually by the American Academy of Environmental Engineers and Scientists.

Loring (Larry) Nies, professor of civil engineering and environmental and ecological engineering, will receive the 2015 Excellence in Environmental Engineering Education Award. The award is presented by the American Academy of Environmental Engineers and Scientists and the Association of Environmental Engineering and Science Professors for significantly contributing to the profession in the area of educating practitioners. Nies, who has been at Purdue since 1993, was inducted into the Book of Great Teachers in 2013.

The Excellence in Environmental Engineering Education (E4) Award is given annually by the American Academy of Environmental Engineers and Scientists to an individual who has made a significant contribution to the profession in the area of educating practitioners. The award will be presented later this month at a conference in Washington, D.C.
