Woei-Chyi Chang receives Best Paper Award at CIB World Building Congress

Woei-Chyi Chang, Ph.D. candidate in the Lyles School of Civil and Construction Engineering, has received the Best Paper Award in the TG96 - Accelerating Innovation in Construction section at the 2025 World Building Congress (WBC) held recently at Purdue University.

Woei-Chyi Chang, Ph.D. candidate in the Lyles School of Civil and Construction Engineering, has received the Best Paper Award in the TG96 - Accelerating Innovation in Construction section at the 2025 World Building Congress (WBC), held recently at Purdue University and hosted by the International Council for Research and Innovation in Building and Construction (CIB). His paper is titled, "The Impact of Physically Demanding Human-Drone Communication on Worker Mental Stress."

Woei-Chyi is a member of the Intelligent-Inclusive-Safe Built Environment Lab (I2SAFE), a Purdue research lab that focuses on smart safety in construction. The lab is directed by Dr. Sogand Hasanzadeh, who also serves as Woei-Chyi's advisor. His research focuses on worker-autonomy teaming in terms of trust, communication, safety, inclusivity, and human-centered interaction.
