Doctoral researcher Johnson Adetooto was selected to receive a 2026  American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) Foundation Scholarship, funded by the ASSP Central Indiana Chapter in memory of Jim Kriner, in the amount of $3,000.

Johnson Adetooto is a doctoral researcher at Purdue University specializing in human factors, safety, and decision-making under risk. His research spans fire-evacuation behavior, suicide prevention for ironworkers, and smart work-zone safety, using multimodal sensing, experimental and field studies, and technology-enabled systems to understand human behavior and improve safety interventions.

Since 1990, the ASSP Foundation has awarded more than $6 million in academic scholarships and professional education grants to environmental health and safety students and professionals working towards their educational goals.
