WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Jordan Cross, a Ph.D. student in Professor Nusrat Jung's research group in the Lyles School of Civil and Construction Engineering at Purdue University, has been awarded a 2026–2027 Graduate Student Grant-in-Aid Award from the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE). Selected from a highly competitive international pool of applicants, the award recognizes Jordan's research on indoor air quality and how everyday consumer products emit chemicals that shape the air people breathe in homes, offices, classrooms, and other indoor environments where people spend the majority of their time.

"We are extremely proud to see Jordan receive this recognition," said Professor Jung. "This award reflects her hard work, intellectual curiosity, and commitment to research with important implications for healthy building design."

The ASHRAE Graduate Student Grant-in-Aid Award supports outstanding graduate students whose research advances building science, indoor environmental quality, and human environmental health.
