Ricky Grogan receives 2024 Construction Engineering Emerging Leader Alumni Award
Ricky Grogan, Jr. (BSCNE 2012), Project Manager at The Walsh Group, has received the 2024 Construction Engineering Emerging Leader Alumni Award.
Ricky is currently Project Director for The Walsh Group working in Tampa, FL with over 12 years of complex bridge experience. He is originally from Indianapolis, IN and graduated with a B.S. from Purdue University's Division of Construction Engineering and Management in the spring of 2012. Ricky is married to Jennifer Grogan who he met as a student at Purdue University. He received his Professional Engineering license in 2018.
Ricky’s career has taken him throughout the mid-Atlantic living in nine different states working on multiple projects varying from vertical lift steel bridges, precast segmental structures, a steel arch bridge and a three-mile bay crossing.
His passion for bridges is contagious. Now that he achieved several career goals he is focusing on giving back through various programs including ACE Mentoring and guest lecturing at high schools and Purdue University. Ricky is extremely humbled and proud to be selected to receive the Construction Engineering and Management’s Emerging Leader Alumni Award. The CEM program and Purdue University hold a special place in his heart, and he has maintained involvement since graduating. He is eager to uphold the standards that come with the award and continues to teach and mentor future generations of our great industry.
