CCE alumni named to 2025 cohort of Purdue Engineering 38 by 38 award

Five alumni of the Lyles School of Civil and Construction Engineering — Michael Dettloff, Ricky Grogan, Dylan Seesman, Rohini Sampoornam Swaminathan, and Ben Townsend — have been named to the 2025 cohort of Purdue Engineering's 38 by 38 award. The annual award recognizes 38 exceptional Purdue Engineering graduates who, at 38 years of age or younger, have already demonstrated rapid professional growth, outstanding achievements and meaningful impact.

The Purdue Engineering 38 by 38 award draws its inspiration from Purdue Engineering alumnus Neil Armstrong, who was 38 when he made history as the first person to set foot on the moon. The annual award honors 38 exceptional Purdue Engineering graduates who, at 38 years of age or younger, have already demonstrated rapid professional growth, outstanding achievements and meaningful impact. These individuals are trailblazers in their respective domains, driving positive impact with every giant leap they take.

Five alumni of the Lyles School of Civil and Construction Engineering are included in this year’s class, including:

Michael Dettloff (BSCE ’10) – Senior Vice President, ENTRUST Solutions Group

Ricky Grogan (BSCNE ’12) – Project Director, The Walsh Group

Dylan Seesman (BSCE ’15) – Principal, Director of Operations, JQOL

Rohini Sampoornam Swaminathan (MSCE ’12) – Climate and Environment Data Lead, UNICEF

Ben Townsend (BSCE ’12, MSCE ’13) – Global Head of Infrastructure and Sustainability, Google
