Description:

Beyond 5G:  In this VIP team, the students will lead the efforts of prototyping and evaluating various technologies that could be used in the next generation wireless communication systems.  Specifically, we are interested in the so-called Ultra-Reliable Low-Latency Communication (URLLC).  That is, we explore what are the techniques that can improve the “reliability” while simultaneously reduce the “latency” during transmissions.  The focus of URLLC will be the backbone of future applications like autonomous vehicle control, drone autopilot, etc.

Prerequisites:

  • For junior and senior year students, ECE302 is a prerequisite or corequisite. There is no restriction for sophomore students. ECE264 is strongly recommended for junior and senior year students. (That is, we want students to have some basic programming skills.)
