Beehive Knowledge System (BEEKS)
Last year, commercial beekeepers lost 60% of their colonies from a combination of factors including varroa mite infestation, starvation, and queen death. This project works on solutions to beehive early decline using machine learning models and embedded systems.

Description:
This project has two parts. First, to design and build a non-invasive sensor array to monitor groups of beehives. Second, to develop machine learning models that identify key events in beehive growth and early decline. Team members will have the opportunity, but not the obligation, to work in the beeyard.
