Environmental biotechnology has evolved into a field where with a wide range of strategies to mitigate and correct the environmental damage caused by human activities. These include prevention, methods for detection and bioremediation and treatment. The talk will give a short overview of the technological potential and of the work done in UAM.
Biographical Information
Dr. Sergio Revah is currently Professor and Dean of the Natural Sciences and Engineering Division of Universidad Autonoma Metropolitana - Cuajimalpa campus.
He is a chemical engineer by UNAM, Master in Food Science by U. California- Davis and a Ph.D. in Bioprocess by U. Technology of Compiegne, France.
His research is in environmental biotechnology; where he has specialized in bioprocesses for air pollution control. He has directed more than 45 graduate students, has several patents and has published more than 110 papers in international refereed journals. He has received several recognitions and recently Mexico’s 2010 National Award of Sciences and Arts in the field of technology.
