Three NHanCE members present at HFES 2022 and received student awards
Three NHanCE Lab members attended: Dr. Brandon Pitts (Lab Director, Assistant Professor in IE), Maya Luster (5th year Ph.D. student) and Nade Liang (4th year Ph.D. student), and Shree Frazier, Ph.D. In addition, Nade Liang and Maya Luster won the HFES Student Member with Honors Award.
Three oral presentations were given by NHanCE Lab members:
- Maya Luster:“Open-Loop Naturalistic Driving: An Assessment of Human Behavior, Performance, and Physiology to Support the Development of Shared Control Strategies”
- Shree Frazier:“Automating Everyday Activities: A Study on the Usage of Text-Based AutoCorrect among Age Groups”
- Nade Liang: “The Effects of Non-Driving-Related Task Engagement on Automated Driving Takeover Performance During the Nighttime”
Furthermore, the HFES Purdue Chapter won the “2022 Outstanding Student Chapter Gold Award” for chapters that have made significant contributions to the discipline, HFES, their campus, and/or their community within a particular year (chapter co-advisors: Dr. Robert Proctor and Dr. Denny Yu, https://hfespurdue.wordpress.com/). The HFES Purdue Chapter also organized the 12th Annual Purdue Dinner during the conference, a chapter tradition aimed to help Purdue University alumni, students, and faculty in human factors stay connected.
