The 2016 Electrostatics Joint Conference was held June 13-16, 2016 at Purdue University (West Lafayette, IN).

The scope of the conference ranged from the fundamental physics underlying electrostatics to applications in industry, atmospheric and space sciences, medicine, energy, and other fields.

Amanda Loveless, a graduate student who works with Prof. Allen Garner, won first place in the best student paper award competition for her talk, entitled "Predicting breakdown voltage for microscale and nanoscale gaps as a function of pressure."

Anand Vadlamani, a graduate student who works with Prof. Allen Garner, won second place in the best student paper award competition for his poster, entitled  "Biological cell dielectric property variation with temperature."

Congratulations to both for their efforts!
