Thirteen teams of EEE undergraduates showcased their Senior Design Projects at this year’s annual Recognition Night, presenting research posters on April 28, 2022 to Purdue EEE faculty, peers, corporate partners, and members of the External Advisory Council (EAC).

EEE faculty members Dr. Caitlin Proctor and Dr. Amisha Shah, as well as postdoctoral associate Dr. Matthew Triebe, judged each poster presentation during the event. They selected Keely Evans, Miles Omori, Jordan Ray, and David Meyer as the 2022 Best Senior Design Team for their project titled, “Wabash Stormwater Infrastructure,” sponsored by Purdue alumna Elaina Ludwig from Wabash.

Headquartered in Lafayette, IN, Wabash designs and manufactures transportation-related products and services. Wabash operates a facility known as the East Plant with the primary purposes of housing assembled trailers and trailers filled with parts in a 36-acre gravel lot. The entirety of this lot's stormwater drains out of one outfall in the southeastern corner of the facility during rain events. The winning Senior Design Team was tasked with reducing the concentration of total suspended solids (TSS) in the discharge at this outfall and its detrimental impact on the local environment.
