Zucrow Labs and the Aerospace District

Zucrow Labs and the Aerospace District are a rapidly growing part of the Purdue campus. Sitting at the west end of the Airport grounds, the existing facilities as well as those being planned for in the near future, present a unique transportation challenge. Right now, the student and faculty population of this area is relatively low and their need to travel across campus is somewhat unpredictable. Additionally, there are infrastructure challenges that make access via various modes of transportation more challenging. As this area continues to grow both in size and importance these transportation challenges must be solved.

While we know some of the information regarding buildings being planned for this area, we do not have population density information at this time. Infrastructure has also been restrictive, with little space for things like a transit bus to access the area. Previous transportation options have not been well received due to these same variables. Students will work with Purdue Transportation to document the variables and create a list of potential transportation solutions that can meet the needs of the existing users while remaining scalable in light of the future growth planned for the area.
