Christopher B. Gale
Great Lakes Division President
"Life is short. Act with integrity, work hard and find something you love to do."
Christopher Gale was born and raised in Greenwood, Indiana, graduating from Greenwood High School in 1991. Growing up with an interest in the NASA space program, combined with his strength in math and sciences, it seemed only fitting he pursue a degree in aeronautical engineering. Being the grandson of a former Boilermaker, he had been to Purdue and was aware of the university’s history of astronauts and aviation. However, midway through his freshman year, an Engineering 101 presentation on Civil Engineering led Chris to alter his path and focus.
Chris graduated from Purdue in May of 1995 and joined the Indiana Department of Environmental Management. As a result of a close mentorship at the agency, he began to understand the consulting industry and wanted to be involved in the design and construction of infrastructure. In the fall of 1996, Chris joined HNTB Corporation.
At HNTB, he has been able to advance in a variety of roles and grow in his career. He finds joy in working with his team as they work with clients to solve some of their biggest, most complex challenges. Early and often in his career he has been blessed to have people invest in his growth as a person and professional. It is a priority of Chris’ to pass down that investment to others and help them achieve their greatest potential.
Chris currently serves as HNTB’s Great Lakes Division President. He is engaged in the community and has served on leadership teams including the American Council of Engineering Consultants, Indy Chamber of Commerce, American Heart Association, and Johnson County Community Foundation. He also actively serves as a club board member for his son’s lacrosse team, helping to grow the sport on the south side of Indianapolis.
Chris and his wife, Kim, have been married 24 years and reside in Franklin, Indiana, with their two teenage sons, Kyle and Cole. With dogs named Boiler and Mackey, Chris is a proud Purdue graduate.
