Julio Ramirez, Karl H. Kettelhut Professor in Civil Engineering and Director of the Natural Hazards Engineering Research Infrastructure (NHERI) Network Coordination Office (NCO) Center, has been appointed as the ASCE representative on the Technical Committee 29 Network Construction and Joint Utilization of Large Scale Experimental Facilities of the Asian Civil Engineering Coordinating Council (ACECC).

The ACECC was established in 1999 to promote collaborative work towards sustainable development of infrastructure within the Asian regions. Current member societies include American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE); Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers (PICE); Japan Society of Civil Engineers (JSCE); Chinese Institute of Civil and Hydraulic Engineering (CICHE); Korean Society of Civil Engineers (KSCE); Vietnam Federation of Civil Engineering Associations (VFCEA); Engineers Australia (EA); Indonesian Society of Civil and Structural Engineers (HAKI); The Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE India); The Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB); The Institution of Engineers, Pakistan (IEP); Nepal Engineers' Association (NEA); Federation of Myanmar Engineering Societies (Fed.
