Monica Prezzi appointed Editor of ASCE's Journal of Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Engineering

Dr. Monica Prezzi, Professor of Civil Engineering at the Lyles School of Civil Engineering, has been appointed Editor of ASCE's Journal of Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Engineering, previously known as the Journal of Geotechnical Engineering.

Dr. Monica Prezzi, Professor of Civil Engineering at the Lyles School of Civil Engineering, has been appointed Editor of ASCE's Journal of Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Engineering. The journal has been in print since 1956 but dates back to the Transactions of the American Society of Civil Engineers, which was first published 150 years ago. It was previously known as the Journal of Geotechnical Engineering.

Dr. Prezzi is a professor of civil engineering at Purdue and the co-Director of the Center for Offshore, Foundation and Energy Engineering (COFFEE). Dr. Prezzi holds an undergraduate degree in civil engineering from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), Brazil, a Master of Engineering degree from UFRGS, and both a Master of Science degree and a Ph.D. degree in civil engineering from the University of  California, Berkeley. Dr. Prezzi's areas of research include soil behavior, foundation and offshore engineering, retaining walls, instrumentation and monitoring of geotechnical structures, and ground engineering.
