Siddharth Saksena receives AWRA Ivan Johnson Award

Dr. Siddharth Saksena (MSCE '14, PhD '19), Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Virginia Tech, has received the A. Ivan Johnson Award for Young Professionals presented by the American Water Resources Association.

Dr. Siddharth Saksena (MSCE '14, PhD '19) has received the A. Ivan Johnson Award for Young Professionals presented by the American Water Resources Association (AWRA). This award recognizes and encourages young professionals as the future leaders of water resources research, management, and education. Given annually, or at such time as qualified candidates are identified and nominated, this award is for a young professional who has demonstrated outstanding achievements, talents, and leadership potential through their professional activities related to water resources.

Dr. Saksena is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Virginia Tech in the water resources division. His research group works on flood modeling and forecasting, hydroinformatics, and climate and land use change impacts on future flood risk. Dr. Saksena currently serves as the co-chair of the AWRA Technology Committee. He has also worked on the planning committee for the 2022 AWRA Spring Conference as well as the 2022 AWRA GWTC conference. He is currently an associate editor for the Journal of American Water Resources Association. He holds a Bachelor of Technology in Civil Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, a Master of Science and a Doctor of Philosophy in Civil Engineering from Purdue University.
