Why I chose Purdue Civil and Construction Engineering

I honestly wasn’t exactly sure where I wanted to go to college, or what I wanted to study. I just knew I wanted to go somewhere where they had strong programs in science and engineering. But once I visited Purdue University, saw the campus and got a sense for the community, I knew this would be the right place for me.

Emphasis area

I am in the construction engineering program. Once I came to Purdue and learned about the construction engineering program, I quickly realized this was the right discipline for me. I liked how they emphasized internships and gaining real-world experience along with gaining an in-class education.

After he graduates this spring, John will be joining a construction firm in Colorado.

Rugby captain

I’m the captain of the Purdue Rugby team, and it’s been one of the best parts of my time at Purdue. Being part of this team and competing against other universities from across the U.S. has been incredible. The support we have from alumni and former-rugby players has also been incredible.

After I graduate

After I earn my bachelor’s degree this spring, I will be joining DPR Construction in Denver, Colorado.
