Catalog description: A study of economics and functional applications for major categories of construction equipment. Operational characteristics are identified for selected equipment items and are applied to typical construction situations.
Prerequisites: CCE 22200 or graduate standing
Course status: Technical elective
Specific goals for the course
Student learning outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course the student shall possess the following:
Knowledge of various types of heavy construction equipment and their appropriate use
The ability to estimate and/or calculate productivity of equipment-intensive operations
Knowledge of methods and the ability to estimate equipment-intensive construction operation costs
Relationship of course to program outcomes
Outcome 2: An ability to apply engineering design to produce solution that meet specified needs with consideration of public health, safety, and welfare, as well as global, cultural, social, environmental, and economic factors
