May 2026 Candidate Deadlines

Master's Non-Thesis Candidates for May 2026:

  • Plan of Study must be electronically approved by CCE Grad Program by January 9, 2026.
  • Candidacy must be declared by February 4, 2026 by notifying the CCE Graduate Office and registering for the appropriate candidate course through the Scheduling Assistant. Remember to discuss with your advisor.
  • Confirm the type of final exam required with your advisor. If you will have a formal exam event, inform the CCE Graduate Office at least two weeks in advance of the date.
  • Any exam event must be held no later than April 20, 2026.
  • Arrange a departmental exit interview with Jenny Ricksy during the weeks of April 20 - May 1, 2026.
    • Be sure to take the CCE Departure Form and any supplemental forms to the exit interview.

Master's Thesis and PhD Candidates for May 2026:

  • Plan of Study must be electronically approved by the CCE Grad Program by January 9, 2026.
  • Candidacy must be declared by February 4, 2026 by notifying the CCE Grad Office and registering for the appropriate candidate course through the Scheduling Assistant. Remember to discuss with your advisor.
  • Submit Form 8 online at least three weeks before exam date, but no later than March 30, 2026, so exam materials can be prepared. Submit pdf of abstract to CCE Grad Office (jricksy@purdue.edu).
  • Hold Final Exam no later than April 20, 2026. Initiate electronic Form 9 – make sure to use the final thesis title. The Form 9 must match the title on your deposited document. You will not be permitted to upload your document to the Office of the Vice Provost for Graduate Students and Postdoctoral Scholars (OGSPS) for deposit until the Form 9 has been fully approved by CCE.
  • Review deposit requirements at: https://www.purdue.edu/gradschool/research/thesis/index.html. You must use one of the approved templates at this site.
  • Schedule an exit interview with the CCE Grad Chair no later than April 27, 2026.
  • Obtain format approval by submitting your document to thesishelp@purdue.edu (at OGSPS) by March 27, 2026 OR to your format advisor in CCE, at least three business days prior to your exit interview with the CCE Grad Chair, but no later than April 22, 2026.  You just need to get one format check – either from the OGSPS or from the CCE format check advisor – you should not do both.
  • At least 24 hours prior to your exit interview with the CCE Grad Chair, but no later than April 24, 2026, send a copy of your thesis/dissertation to Dr. Abraham (dulcy@purdue.edu).
  • Complete OGSPS exit surveys.
  • Upload your approved document to the OGSPS deposit site at least 24 hours prior to the deadline, but no later than 5:00 p.m. on April 28, 2026. You will not be permitted to upload your document to the Graduate School for deposit until the Form 9 has been fully approved by Civil.
  • Submit a completed Civil Engineering Departure Form to the Civil main office (HAMP 1141) before leaving campus.
  • The CCE Grad Office does NOT need a formal bound copy of the thesis.

Notes:

  • Exam/Degree Only completion date: March 6, 2026.
  • Last day to complete prelim to be eligible for May 2027 graduation: May 9, 2026.
  • Last day to submit POS for August 2026 graduation: May 15, 2026.
