Prospective Students

Undergraduate Students:

Purdue students are welcome to contact Professor Marconnet regarding independent study research opportunities and are also encouraged to apply for the SURF program. Qualified undergraduates from other institutions are encouraged to apply for the SURF program.

Prof. Marconnet is also highly involved in the SCALE program to develop the US workforce for the semicondcutor industry. Specifically, she is the co-director of the Heterogeneous Integration and Advanced Packaging (HIAP) thrusts and there are periodically opportunities for domenstic undergrads to conduct research through SCALE.

Graduate students:

We are always looking for highly qualified, talented, and self-motivated graduate students with interests in heat transfer, thermal sciences, nanotechnology, energy conversion, and/or materials. However, Professor Marconnet generally does not reply to unsolicited emails from applicants unless they have already applied to Purdue's Mechanical Engineering program.

For Fall admission cycle, Prof. Marconnet typically evaluates applications between late December and mid-April. For Spring admissions, typically the review window is September - early November.

Given the high volume of emails from prospective students, not every email will receive a reply (especially when received outside of the recruiting/review timeline). Sending multiple emails will not improve, and may reduce, the chances of receiving a reply.
