Experience Studios Lead Project Owners

Aiza Hasib, Eleanor Hamilton, and Robin Arnold are our Lead Project Owners this semester. They will each oversee 4-6 teams and work directly to help train 2-3 Project Owners.

Robin, Lead Project Owner

Robin Arnold is a Junior at Purdue University pursuing a degree in User Experience Design and minoring in Communication and Psychology. Throughout her education, she will work towards a specialization in project management and content strategy. Her goal is to find a career within project management, actively seeking new design opportunities within a world that is forever changing. She hopes to create seamless experiences with aesthetic user interfaces. She will be interning with Stryker this summer to work with their software products and streamline the surgical experience. Aiza, TA & Lead Project Owner

Aiza Hasib is a second-year masters student in User Experience Design at Purdue with an undergraduate in Computer Science. She is an aspiring product manager and enjoys working at the intersection of design and technology, collaborating across teams to build and develop products end-to-end. She has recently been working as a product manager on driving the MVP release of a non-profit tutoring platform. Aiza strongly believes in mentorship and is currently a Global Lead for the Pakistani Women in Computing where she is developing and leading the ambassador program. Eleanor, Lead Project Owner

Eleanor Hamilton is currently a Senior at Purdue University pursuing a degree in User Experience Design with a double minor in Communications and Psychology. She loves that UX allows her to connect with others everyday. Eleanor strives to create delightful and meaningful experiences with users, and uses empathy to guide her decisions. She is always willing to expand her knowledge and loves a good challenge! One of Eleanor’s passions in life is music and she hopes to integrate this passion into her career. When she’s not designing, Eleanor can be found performing with the Purduettes, an all-women musical group that serves as Ambassadors for Purdue. As a leader of Brand Management for the group, she has utilized her design skills and creative side, running the Instagram page. Jack, Project Owner

Jack Bannon is currently a junior at Purdue University pursuing a BS in User Experience Design. He is in the process of achieving a minor in psychology as well as a certificate in collaborative leadership. Containing a background in graphic design, Jack plans to specialize in information architecture/content strategy but is keeping an open mind regarding all aspects of UX. As a UX designer, Jack plans to bring simple, personalized experiences to users of tech around the globe by combining his visual design skills with futuristic approaches. Brooke, Project Owner

Brooke Carney is a senior at Purdue University majoring in User Experience Design with a minor in Psychology. She has an interest in art and technology as well as the psychology behind decision making. She hopes to improve technology and help others through her work in User Experience Design. Over this past summer, she was a systems development intern with Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance where she made user experience design suggestions for various teams and designed mockups for a new style guide website. There she also learned to adapt to a virtual working environment during the pandemic. Outside of the classroom Brooke enjoys being involved in her community and has a passion for dogs. Shantanu, Project Owner

Shantanu Kashyap is a UX Design junior at Purdue University focusing on interaction design. He is minoring in Psychology & certificate course in Collaborative Leadership. He works as a Research Assistant at Purdue’s UX Design lab and as a Graphic Designer for Purdue. He has worked on projects with Microsoft, OmniVis, ABB and Crema. Shelby, Project Owner

Shelby Benton is a senior at Purdue University studying User Experience Design, pursuing minors in Psychology and Art & Design, and a certificate in Entrepreneurship. As an aspiring UX Designer, she thrives in the intersection of design, technology, and interaction. Shelby’s unique background in Visual Communication Design and UX has allowed her to combine her eye for visual design and aesthetics with human understanding and diversity, under the multi-disciplinary umbrella of UX. She has a responsibility to consider the unique and varying experiences of all within her designs, and she aims to have an influence on people’s lives. Brigitte, Project Owner

Brigitte Gurrola is a senior studying her last semester at Purdue University pursuing her degree in User Experience Design along with the Certificate of Entrepreneurship & Innovation and a psychology minor. She has past internship experience at the National Credit Union Administration’s Office of Minority and Women Inclusion as a ux designer and as well as at SupplyKick as a product manager. She has a passion for public interest technology and hopes to one day use her design skills to benefit her community through non-profit work in the future. Brandon, Project Owner

Brandon Dentler is a current Senior at Purdue University and in his last semester of User Experience Design within the Polytechnic Institute. Currently, he is planning on getting a Bachelor’s of Science in User Experience Design with a main focus in User Interface design within the video game industry, and is also working toward a certification in Entrepreneurship. He plans to graduate from Purdue University in the Spring of 2021. Brandon’s passion for video games has been with him for his whole life. Leah, Project Owner

Leah Neustedter is a junior at Purdue University pursuing a degree in User Experience Design pursuing a minor in Psychology and Communications. She is interested in Visual Design and Project Management, with a specialization in personal fitness, healthcare, and advocacy design. She is passionate about inclusive design and using her skills to give a voice to women, minorities, the LGBTQ+ community, and other underrepresented groups. She is well versed in a variety of prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch and Axure. She will be interning with Garmin this summer to work on personal fitness watches, and will be looking for a full time User Experience Designer position for when she graduates in May 2022. Helmettracker

Design a mobile application to assist football equipment managers by building of a machine learning process to track, train and reward users for participating.

Evan, Co-Lead

Evan Voss is a User-Experience Design student at Purdue University who is also pursuing a psychology minor. His love for technology and people makes him a hardworking and driven student who uses his empathy to drive his work. Evan has over a year of working in the UX field and in that time has become more robust in his skills. With his time in his major his public speaking and problem-solving skills have improved exponentially. He works extremely well with others and has no problem taking a leadership role on projects. Ria, Co-Lead

Ria Sali is a junior in the User Experience Design program at Purdue University. She is currently working towards securing a bachelor’s degree, along with a minor in Psychology and is set to graduate in May 2022. Her main interest is engaging in user research, but she has also undertaken UI design during her internships at CredPal and HiDelta. Ria strives to be an engaged and inquisitive worker when it comes to projects, and is a team player that thrives in collaborative settings in order to get the best input to push a solution forward. Daniel

Daniel Chin is a first-year at Purdue University pursuing a major in UX Design with minors in Psychology and Communications as well as a certificate in Entrepreneurship. He has interests in music and art which serve as a basis for his interest in UX where creativity, technology, and psychology intertwine. Daniel has interests in creating accessible design for minorities and underrepresented communities as well as streamlining safety and interaction in the automotive industry. Ali

Ali Zegar is currently a Junior at Purdue University pursuing a degree in User Experience Design. He loves that User Experience Design allows him to express his ideas into his work every day. While not working at his degree, Ali loves to spend his free time by playing trumpet in the Purdue Bands & Orchestras program and also playing video games with his friends, which he would want to merge both of these hobbies into an eventual career choice. Garrett

Garrett Fitzgerald is a freshman in the User Experience Design program at Purdue University. Given his enthusiasm for design, technology, and psychology he was immediately drawn to the field and knew there would be no better major to suit his passions. He will pursue a minor in Psychology due to great interest in human behavior, social science, and cognitive science. Along with the PSY minor, Garrett also plans on acquiring the Advanced Global Technology minor or the Entrepreneurship certificate. Raghav

Raghav Mandadi is a current sophomore at Purdue University, pursuing a BS degree in User Experience Design, with a minor in Psychology and Organizational Leadership. From a family with a background of all engineers, Raghav found passion in trying to understand people and applying it to design. In his free time, Raghav loves to hike in his hometown of Seattle, play a multitude of instruments, and travel across the world. Katherine

Katherine Barrientos Moreno is a second year student at Purdue University. She is pursuing a major in User Experience Design, a minor in psychology, and is obtaining a certificate in Collaborative Leadership. She has experience working with Adobe Suite programs after taking computer graphics courses for several years, which also sparked her interest in UX design. She believes that design is a tool that can be used to provide meaningful solutions to people and help others. She has learned basic HTML, CSS, and Javascript and is interested in expanding her coding skills and learning more. She aspires to work in the UX field in the future, with a focus on UI design and visual design. On campus, she is involved with the Women in Technology Club, and serves as the fundraising chair for the Minority Technology Association Club. Lauren, Co-Lead

Lauren Gebhardt is a sophomore at Purdue University studying User Experience Design. She is planning on obtaining a minor in Psychology and a Collaborative Leadership certificate. Her interest in UX Design began her senior year of high school when she took some time exploring the different majors in Polytechnic. In high school, she enjoyed graphic design and knew that she wanted to pick a major incorporating it. After looking into her options, she finally decided upon UX Design here at Purdue. Since being in the program, Lauren has steered away from her original interest of visual design and instead has picked up an interest in methods and primary research. Ishaan, Co-Lead

Ishaan Dandia is an undergraduate student at Purdue University studying UX Design and pursuing a double minor in Psychology and Communication. He hopes to specialize in visual design and product management. He is interested in how people interact with technology and different ways to make the experience easier. He was initially intrigued by UX as it combines his love of technology and art with psychology. Through his love of photography, 2D design, and videography, he has garnered skills in Photoshop, Lightroom, Procreate, and Final Cut Pro. Ishaan also has some programming experience with Python, Java, CSS, and HTML. Ishaan is very passionate about entrepreneurship and is currently a brother in DMK, Purdue’s Entrepreneurship Fraternity. Aiden

Aiden Ringer is a Junior at Purdue University pursuing a major in User Experience Design and a certificate in entrepreneurship. He plans on specializing in visual and UI design. He was drawn to UX design because of the design process and the stronger focus on the user when compared to something like visual communication design. He plans on receiving the entrepreneurship certificate as well to help build on his skills as it pertains to working with clients and generating ideas. Natasha

Natasha Chambers is a freshman at Purdue University studying User Experience Design, minoring in Psychology and working towards an entrepreneurship certificate. She is excited to be pursuing a specialization in information architecture and interaction design throughout her undergraduate studies. She has previous experience in designing marketing materials and coding emails campaigns through her past internship opportunities and freelance work. Prateek Mondan is a Graduate student at Purdue University, majoring in User Experience Design. With a background in Architecture and over 3 years of experience in Art and Design fields, Prateek brings along a strong design aesthetic and Digital Design skill set. His areas of interest include- Brand Strategy and Marketing, Ethics in Design and Interaction Design. Sarah

Sarah Palagy is a junior at Purdue University studying UX Design. She is a first year in the design program and pursuing a minor in psychology. Before deciding to pursue UX Design, she was a Biochemistry major with a Pre-Med concentration. This experience has left her with in-depth knowledge of general biology and chemistry, organic chemistry, and anatomy. As for her technical skills, she has experience in Photoshop, Illustrator and Lightroom. She hopes to specialize in Interaction Design or Information Architecture but is open to experience in any of the UX Design specializations. Sadie

Sadie Bunting is a freshman double majoring in User Experience Design and Political Science and minoring in Psychology at Purdue University. Identifying innovative approaches and solutions to problems both motivates and inspires her. Sadie believes observation, inspiration, and determination are her core values. In Sadie’s past experiences with design, her successes have stemmed from strong communication and a passion for collaboration, innovation, and activism. With these qualities, Sadie is able to facilitate positive change and make an impact on whatever problem she is solving. Sadie has always been passionate about Irish dance and has been teaching Irish dance for 4 years. Sadie hopes to use her love of communicating through the art of dance in her career. Ariana, Co-Lead

Ariana Eskew is a junior at Purdue University studying User Experience Design. She is pursuing minors in Psychology and Advanced Global Technology and certificates in Collaborative Leadership and Global Competence. This semester, she is excited to continue her research with the DVC Lab and to be a team lead working on a sponsored project with Sezzle. She greatly enjoys user research and the impact that has on visual and interaction design. Her goal is to one day have a job that allows her to create products and designs that improve people’s daily lives. Rhea Singh is a junior at Purdue University. She is currently working towards a bachelor’s degree in User Experience Design, minoring in Psychology and getting a Collaborative Leadership certificate. Over the summer of 2020, Rhea Singh worked as a UX Intern at a startup for building automation systems where she helped with creating the branding and is currently building the company’s website. Enya

Enya Song is a freshman at Purdue University majoring in User Experience Design. Ji Won

Ji Won Lee is a junior at Purdue University, pursuing a degree in User Experience Design with a minor in Psychology. Throughout her academic experiences at Purdue, she is acquiring skills in prototyping, web design, public speaking, and researching. In particular, Ji Won is currently a research assistant in the UCD (user-centered design) team of SuperPower lab and studies user aspects of power analysis software tools. Varun

Varun Aravapalli is a Freshman at Purdue University pursuing a degree in UX design. Varun is originally from Hyderabad, India but moved and grew up in Plainsboro, New Jersey. In his free time Varun enjoys both playing and designing video games. Varun has been involved in designing games and robots since 2016. Isabella is a senior at Purdue University majoring in User Experience Design, pursuing a double-minor in psychology and communication, and a Entrepreneurship Certificate. She found her way into the UX program while searching for a way to combine her passion for design, art, technology and psychology. As a designer, she strives to humanize technology by creating simple and meaningful experiences for users. Through classes, Isabella has had the opportunity to collaborate in projects with Microsoft, Garmin, Innovatemap, and was recently a team lead for Purdue Office of Engagement, which have allowed her to strengthen her research, design and leadership skills. VEIL UK - Northumbria University

The project will explore key issues relating to migration and data ethics, focusing on outcomes of safety and dignity for migrants. Purdue is collaborating with Northumbria University graduate students.

Connor, Co-Lead

Connor Schrank is a senior at Purdue University and is in his third year of studying UX Design with a minor in Psychology and a certificate in Collaborative Leadership. Connor’s focus on interaction design and user research within UX. Through his work, Connor creates meaningful, user-centered work to provide experiences beyond expectations. Connor is also currently an undergraduate researcher for the DVC (Design, Visualization, and Cognition) Lab at Purdue University. Kaitlin, Co-Lead

Kaitlin Groothuis is a junior in Purdue’s User Experience Design program, minoring in Psychology. Her roots are in Kokomo, Indiana. She hopes to be a metaphorical mushroom: decomposing information in order to create meaningful interactions with technology. Her focus right now is on user research and hopes to work at a design consultancy focused on the social sector, healthcare, and government clients. Currently, she is a usability consultant intern at Science Gateways Community Institute and an HCI research assistant for a project centered on resource support for human trafficking survivors. Hitachi

Hitachi Hu is a junior at Purdue University pursuing a degree in User Experience Design. Throughout his education, he will work towards communicating with people, working on the job starting from product design toward marketing. He is eager to become a famous UX/UI designer that can work in Silicon Valley or other major consumer electronics firms worldwide someday. Shryansi

Shryansi Jain is currently a Sophomore at Purdue University pursuing a degree in User Experience Design with a minor in Psychology. Shryansi is especially interested in User Experience design because she thinks it is an excellent combination of technology, design, and psychology. Her love for people and curiosity drives her to do user research and take up new challenges. Shryansi is a technology enthusiast and loves to learn from new experiences and then develop herself. Madhumitha

Madhumitha Rajesh is currently a Freshman at Purdue University pursuing a degree in User Experience Design. She adores the fact that UX enables her to connect with new people everyday. Madhumitha endeavors to create meaningful and enjoyable experiences with users, and makes a good use of her compassion. She is always open to expand her knowledge and loves an interesting challenge! Matthew

Matthew Will is a Junior at Purdue University, and is in his second year within the UX Design Program. In his first year as a student in UX, Matthew has gained professional experience working with companies Avanade and Indiana Farmers Insurance on student-led projects, and expanding his repertoire of design and research skills in his various course work. Matthew has specific interests in the areas of UX Research and Visual Design, and is skilled with design programs such as Figma with minor experience in coding languages such as HTML, CSS, and Javascript. On the personal side, Matthew enjoys hobbies such as running and playing video games in his free time, as well as improving his writing ability and design skills. Veronica

Veronica Tsang is a sophomore at Purdue University studying UX Design with a double minor in Psychology and Communications. She is from Palo Alto, California, and aspires to work in Product Design. She has actively engaged in design, development, and execution globally, in Education-Technology, Insurance, and Online Cooking industries. Her Google Apprenticeship provided her first-hand experience in UX design, project management, and Blockchain. Volunteering three years at the VA Hospital sharpened her detail-oriented skills as she tested blood samples, performed data analyses, and assisted in three human autopsies. Zachary

Zachary Nahorski is a freshman at Purdue University pursuing a degree in UX Design. He wants to build stronger and more effective applications that anyone can sit down and seamlessly use. Prior to beginning his journey in the User Experience Design field, he spent three years working through graphic design classes at his local high school, where he built up a strong understanding and level of skill. Zachary also excelled in video production at his high school, which ultimately led to him receiving the Video Student of the Year award. He is proficient in the Adobe CC suite with programs such as Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, and After Effects. He also has a basic level of programming experience in Python, HTML, and Java. James

SeokHwan (James) Chang is a sophomore at Purdue University majoring in User Experience Design with a minor in Psychology. He has a specific interest in UI Design and Interaction Design, which eventually led him to an internship opportunity at LeadSigma as part of the UI Design Team. He served for the Republic of Korea Army from 2017 to 2019 and has picked up many disciplinary habits such as teamwork, adaptability, and quick decision-making skills. James is comfortable with Adobe CC programs such as Illustrator, Photoshop, and Premiere Pro. He also has basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JS. VEIL China - Beijing Normal

The project will analyze the different aspects of the US and Chinese digitally literate* mobile banking users to pioneer future design opportunities and build an affinity between the two cultures.

Alicia Zhang is a junior at Purdue University majoring in User Experience Design and aiming for a certificate in entrepreneurship. She was born and raised in Bay Area, California. Colin Mulron is a User Experience design student at Purdue University. As a senior, Colin expects to graduate in the Summer of 2021 and is currently pursuing experience opportunities related to his work. Angela

Jensen Burr is currently a Sophomore at Purdue University who is pursuing a degree in User Experience design a minor in Management and a cornerstone in Communications. Jensen decided to pursue User Experience because he wants to make products more accessible to the user and really enjoys working to solve difficult problems. When conducting research for projects his top are empathy and bringing that emotion and understanding of others and curating that into a solution. Samantha Hayden is currently a freshman at Purdue University majoring in User Experience Design with a planned minor in psychology. Janhavi

Janhavi is a sophomore at Purdue University, majoring in User Experience Design. She is passionate about redefining the way design is viewed. The idea behind this is to put forward the ideology and narrative of the design rather than just its aesthetic. As a result of her exposure to an array of themes related to psychology, she tries to make her designs intuitive and reflexive. Seo Hyun (Erica; preferred) Kim is a junior at Purdue University studying UX Design and pursuing entrepreneurship certificate. She has an interest in web development and user interface design related to the IT field, such as artificial intelligence or automated vehicles. Her interest in design arose back in high school when studying for an Image Consultant Certificate and receiving one in Korea. Toyin Awosanya is a freshman at Purdue University pursuing a B.S. degree in User Experience Design. She became attracted to User Experience design by the combination of technology, art, product development, and human interaction to build meaningful products. Brein Gross is a Junior at Purdue University pursuing a degree in User Experience Design with a minor in Psychology. Ellie Kouba is a Sophomore studying User Experiences Design at Purdue University. Alexa Efthymiou is a freshman at Purdue University and is in her first year of the UX Design Program. She has recently been inspired to also pursue a double major in Finance and a minor in Psychology. Currently LeadSigma is on-boarding clients manually in a three week-long process. Our objective is to understand the on-boarding process in the LeadSigma’s web-application and then redesign the process based on our findings.

Camile Hardt is a sophomore pursuing a degree in User Experience Design and a minor in psychology. She is from Overland Park, Kansas. She plans to specialize in visual design and prototyping. Anna Kelley is a current junior at Purdue University, studying User Experience Design. We have been tasked by the UE Group to design a mobile app for the startup UpHome. The goal is to design a mobile app that will make it easier for users to measure and visualize replacement showers with an augmented reality experience.

Anika Antony is a sophomore at Purdue University majoring in user experience design and minoring in psychology. She has lived in Carmel, IN most of her life. She displays good skills like communication, leadership, self awareness, and discipline. She knows user centered design processes and looks forward to expanding her knowledge in the field. KidsLoveFun

KidsLoveFun is a startup company that creates interactive robots for 3-6 years old children to help them foster healthy teeth brushing habits. We will create a mobile app concept that helps track teeth-brushing data to provide insights on how the child could brush better and will provide information to dentists and parents on their progress.

Rheaa, Co-Lead

Rheaa Kamath is a junior at Purdue University studying User Experience Design with a minor in Psychology. Rheaa aspires to create meaningful experiences that people encounter in everyday life, empowering them to dig deeper and learn new things. Gabriella, Co-Lead

Gabriella Goss is currently a sophomore at Purdue University studying User Experience Design. I intend to minor in Psychology and Communications with a certificate in Collaborative Leadership.She aspires to be able to lead a team in creating innovative, practical designs that will help people to lead easier, more sustainable lives. She has prior experience in leadership through three years of the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Seminar. She attended this seminar in 2017 and has volunteered over 400 hours of community service to return each year as a junior assistant staff member, and special assistant staff member. Walter Dorau is a Sophomore User Experience Design student at Purdue University, formerly an Information Technology student specializing in cyber security at the Illinois Institute of Technology. Aidan Sabatino is a Freshman at Purdue University majoring in User Experience Design. Originally from Elmhurst, Illinois he has always been interested in computers and automobiles. While growing up, he would always note the trouble that his parents had with their in-car displays. This, along with his combined passion for creativity, has led to a desired position in the automotive industry, specifically in hopes of improving in-car entertainment through UX. Sophie Haydar is a Sophomore studying User Experience Design at Purdue University with a double minor in Math and French. Chorong, Co-Lead

Chorong Park is a second year master’s student at Purdue University pursuing User Experience Design. She was a Lead Project Owner/TA in ES last semester, and a TA for Prof. Rashe in 256 now. As a Research helper for Design, Visualization, & Cognition Lab run by Dr. Parsons, she enjoys analyzing and gathering user behavior data, as well as Human Computer Interaction (HCI) publications using various research methods. Her focus research area for capstone is in eHealth care, older adults and Human Computer Interaction. She strives to solve for human needs and by creating meaningful human experiences. Annie Giang is a third-year undergraduate student at Purdue University studying User Experience Design with an interest in mobile interactions and prototyping. Alexander Lederman is a junior at Purdue University majoring in User Experience Design and pursuing a certificate in Entrepreneurship and Innovation. Titan Hoang is a freshman at Purdue University studying UX Design and Psychology. Olivia Le is in her first year of User Experience Studios at Purdue University, pursuing a degree in User Experience Design and a minor in Psychology. Evan Burr is a sophomore at Purdue University pursuing a degree in User Experience Design with a minor in Management. For the past four years he has participated in business startup weekends being awarded multiple top-three finishes for his business plan pitches.
Evan has put his ideas into practice through incubating concepts for consumer products and an application. He develops his maker skills through fabrication workshops. Sophie

Sophie Regele is currently a freshman at Purdue University pursuing a degree in User Experience Design with a double minor in Psychology and Spanish and a certificate in Entrepreneurship. Her previous experiences of traveling abroad and living in a multicultural family has allowed her to have a great global outlook and appreciation for understanding new cultures. Our project focuses on HPE GreenLake Central and Adobe Analytics. GreenLake Central, one of HPE’s platforms, provides public cloud services and infrastructure as-a-service for the user’s workloads. It also serves as a portal for customers to see the services together.

Laura, Co-Lead

A student at Purdue University, Laura Makary found her passion in User Experience Design with a certificate in Collaborative Leadership and minors in Anthropology and Art and Design. She is currently pursuing her passion for design-centered research as an undergraduate research assistant in Dr. Colin Gray’s Pedagogy and practice lab, and hopes to pursue a career in the intersection of design education and education reform in the future. In the past, she studied and interned at the American Graphics Institute of Boston, where she first found her passion for User Experience Design and picked up skills in HTML/CSS, graphic design, and various Adobe programs. Jake Ledford is a Junior student at Purdue University studying User Experience Design. His primary interests include front end design and interaction design. Jared Buls is a UX designer interested in front-end design and interaction with others. Jared is interested in traveling, competition, and learning various skills. He grew up in a small college town known as Valparaiso, Indiana. He grew up there his whole life with a large family of eight in total along with a small dog. He always was involved with a variety of sports growing up, which translated into a love for gaming in his later years. He went to Purdue knowing that he wanted to work with people and technology, and after a year found that UX design was the perfect fit. He really enjoys being creative and collaborative in the early stages of the design process and then seeing the end result. Jared plans to someday work in UX for a large tech company in a different country and strives to be the head of major projects for that company.

Cindy

Hyebeen Lee, who also goes by Cindy, is a current junior at Purdue University in her third semester in the UX Design program, with a minor in Psychology. As someone who first entered the States as an immigrant, Cindy has been developing a diverse, global perspective to bring into a variety of communities. She also likes to communicate with others through visual and performing arts; thus in the near future, she aspires to become a designer who can help make an impactful and relevant art experiences for people to stumble upon. She has been using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, Autodesk SketchBook, and Clip Studio since high school, to bring out her early interests in visual arts. Alex Schrankel is a Junior at Purdue University studying User Experience Design with minors in Communications and Design and Innovation. She was born in Mahilyow, Belarus, then was adopted and moved to Osan Airbase, South Korea, and then to Kansas City, Missouri when she was young. Her experiences with many cultures benefited her in many ways including her ability to work and collaborate with people from many backgrounds. She has a particular interest in research and strategy. Her career aspirations include being an Insights and Experience Strategy Designer (IXS) or a User Researcher. Jacquelyn Chim is currently a freshman at Purdue University pursuing a B.S in User Experience Design and a minor in Psychological Sciences. Cerner

Design a digital tool for patients with type 2 diabetes to manage their condition. Our goals are to incorporate pain points of users with type 2 diabetes addressing blood glucose levels, recommended insulin dosage, and other daily accommodations for these patients.

Anne, Co-Lead

Anne Pivonka is a sophomore at Purdue University studying UX Design with a minor in Psychology and certificates in Entrepreneurship and Collaborative Leadership. She is an attentive designer focused on User Research and Interaction Design. Her curiosity about the world and desire to create meaningful experiences that help and inspire people is what drives her passion for UX Design. Anne is currently working as a UX Research Assistant in the UXP2 lab focusing on ethics in UX practice. Tori Martin is a Junior majoring in User Experience Design with a minor in Psychology at Purdue University. Janna Johns is a junior at Purdue University studying User-Experience Design, pursuing minors in Psychology and Art & Design. Luke Matheny is a freshman at Purdue University. He is majoring in UX because he finds the connection between human psychology and technology fascinating. Luke discovered this passion during quarantine when he began to learn how to create interfaces for mobile apps. It did not take long for him to be hooked. Zoë Morken is a junior at Purdue University pursuing a B.S. in User Experience (UX) Design with minors in Communication and Psychology. Being fascinated about how individuals interact with technology as well as how it influences their interpersonal relationships, Zoë is drawn toward creating pleasing experiences through beautiful and functional products. Previously, she has worked with clients as the lead UX designer through LeadSigma, a startup based in Kansas. Jen Nazareth is a junior at Purdue University in the User Experience Design program while pursuing a minor in Psychology. While still searching for what specialization in UX Design she finds most interesting, she enjoys sketching and prototyping because of how fun it is to watch designs evolve. She has traditional and digital art experience, occasionally freelancing art for her friends’ Dungeons and Dragons game sessions. Meryl is a sophomore at Purdue University pursuing a B.S. in User Experience Design with a minor in Design & Innovation and a Certificate of Entrepreneurship. She was able to gain experience with UX and UI prototyping, user research, and product design this past summer during her remote internship with New York–based company, My Social Canvas. This opportunity further solidified Meryl’s passion for user-focused technology using applications such as Figma, Autodesk, and the Adobe Creative Suite. Outside of the classroom, Meryl is a Senator for the Polytechnic Institute within Purdue Student Government and a Project Leader for the Publicity Committee of the Purdue Student Union Board. Andrew Dobler is a first-year sophomore studying User Experience Design at Purdue University. Becky

Becky Hutzel is a junior at Purdue but a sophomore in UX Design. She is from Lafayette, IN and is passionate about creativity, music, and people! She loves UX design because it creates a space where she can blend these three areas. She started off in Industrial Design and gained skills from this in sketching, Adobe suite, Rhinoceros, and Catia. She is the webmaster/ social media chair for Purdue Outing Club. This position has included tweaking the website’s layout to make it more user friendly as well as trying to reach a broader audience with social media. She also did interface and web design over summer 2019 for a research project called the Biowall. Her work for the Biowall included making an interface completely from scratch to display intricate computer science data in terms everyday homeowners would understand. She is also the risk manager of her cooperative house and the social media chair of Purdue UX Design Club. She was an assistant manager at a pool during summer 2020. She had a very versatile role of supervising the operations of the entire pool including following health codes, training workers, staying on budget, and maintaining the landscape. This position relates back to UX design because it grew her teamwork capabilities as well documentation skills.
