Sneha Mulki is a senior at Purdue University majoring in User Experience Design with a minor in Psychology. She has past experience interning at Lyft and Intuit as a Product Designer and has a passion to explore the emerging technology space. Chorong, TA & Lead Project Owner

Chorong Park is a first year master’s student at Purdue University pursuing M.S. in User Experience Design. Her previous degree is earned from University of Illinois in Graphic Design received Cum Laude. She received first place for several design exhibitions on campus. With over five years of experience in Graphic and Web design, she changed her career goal to become a UX designer. While working as a designer, she won the design competition of the annual meeting design theme for AIEC. Aiza Hasib is a second-year masters student in User Experience Design at Purdue with an undergraduate in Computer Science. She is an aspiring product manager and enjoys working at the intersection of design and technology, collaborating across teams to build and develop products end-to-end. She has recently been working as a product manager on driving the MVP release of a non-profit tutoring platform. Aiza strongly believes in mentorship and is currently a Global Lead for the Pakistani Women in Computing where she is developing and leading the ambassador program. Ian, Project Owner

Ian Carr is a 2nd year Grad Student at Purdue University’s Computer Graphics Technology program, with a focus on UX Design. Before enrolling at Purdue, Ian gained 2 years of experience as a Computer Science student, transferring from Ivy Tech Community College in Indianapolis. For nearly four years, Ian worked at Amazon.com’s largest distribution facility as an associate trainer, where he trained thousands of new associates. Ian’s specialization is in User Research and UI/Visual Design. Ian is currently a research assistant at Design, Visualization, & Cognition Lab and Community-Computer Interaction Lab. Ian also works as a UX Consultant at PingThings.io. His past experience includes Product Design and UX/UI roles at Disney Streaming Services and Redhorse Corporation. Robin, Project Owner

Robin Arnold is a Junior at Purdue University pursuing a degree in User Experience Design and minoring in Communication and Psychology. Throughout her education, she will work towards a specialization in project management and content strategy. Her goal is to find a career within project management, actively seeking new design opportunities within a world that is forever changing. Eleanor, Project Owner

Eleanor Hamilton is currently a Senior at Purdue University pursuing a degree in User Experience Design with a double minor in Communications and Psychology. Eleanor strives to create delightful and meaningful experiences with users, and uses empathy to guide her decisions. She is always willing to expand her knowledge and loves a good challenge! Most recently, she interned at EAGLE6 Software. During her internship, she gained further experience with Figma, defended her design decisions in daily standups, and had the opportunity to conclude her internship with a solo project. One of Eleanor’s passions in life is music and she hopes to integrate this passion into her career. When she’s not designing, Eleanor can be found performing with the Purduettes, an all-women musical group that serves as Ambassadors for Purdue. Tori, Project Owner

Tori Martin is a junior majoring in User Experience Design with a minor in Psychology at Purdue University. Incorporating her bright and enthusiastic personality, she strives to improve users’ experiences focusing on visual design and content strategy. She is bold in her design decisions but ensures to create with intentions in hopes to empower all stakeholders to have a place within the creative process. UX allows Tori to blend together her artistic mind with her technological skills. Currently, she is the Online Media Director for Kappa Alpha Theta, focusing on brand messaging and digital design. Tori also gained experience this past summer interning at a marketing agency where she found a greater connection between UX and marketing, that she hopes to keep pursuing. Simmi, Project Owner

Simran is a User Experience Design major at Purdue University with a double minor in Psychology and Communication, graduating in December 2020. She has past internship experience at Salesforce, Apple, and IBM, and has had the opportunity to collaborate and be a UX co-lead with Stryker and Microsoft. She strives to simplify complex technologies and empower users to do more. Her curiosity drives her energy to craft beautiful experiences for users. Zoë, Project Owner

Zoë Morken is a junior at Purdue University pursuing a B.S. in User Experience (UX) Design with minors in Communication and Psychology. Being fascinated about how individuals interact with technology as well as how it influences their interpersonal relationships, Zoë is drawn toward creating pleasing experiences through beautiful and functional products. Previously, she has worked with clients as the lead UX designer through HiDelta, a startup based in Indiana. During her employment, she mastered prototyping tools such as Figma and worked in a cross-functional team setting. Outside of UX, Zoë is either cooking, reading, or petting her black lab. Microsoft

Microsoft is working on a solution, available on both mobile and web that provides career resources and guidance to students. Through their initial research, they have found that many students are selective about what kinds of content they interact with. The team’s job is to help them explore new layouts, content organization, and sharing patterns to better suit student needs and create more engagement.

Shantanu, Co-Lead

Shantanu Kashyap is a Junior at Purdue University majoring in user experience design, minoring in Psychology & certificate course in Collaborative Leadership. He works as a Research Assistant at Purdue’s UX Design lab and as a Graphic Designer for Purdue. He has completed projects with Omnivis, ABB and Crema. Rhea, Co-Lead

Rhea Singh is a junior at Purdue University. She is currently working towards a bachelor’s degree in User Experience Design, minoring in Psychology and getting a Collaborative Leadership certificate. Over the summer of 2020, Rhea Singh worked as a UX Intern at a startup for building automation systems where she helped with creating the branding and is currently building the company’s website. She has a strong background in Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator. Throughout her years at Purdue, she has gained skills in prototyping, wireframing, researching, and user testing. Jiwon

Jiwon Lee is a junior at Purdue University, pursuing a degree in User Experience Design with a minor in Psychology. She has a passion for data visualization. With this, Jiwon worked as a graphic design intern for a publisher called Korea Daily Seattle and gained a strong background in multiple Adobe Programs. She strived to satisfy the client’s needs and now she has learned how to have better communication with clients. Throughout her academic experiences at Purdue, she is acquiring skills in interaction design, web design, public speaking, and researching. Jiwon is currently a treasurer in the Purdue Korea Association and has gained leadership and managing skills. Anika

Anika Antony is a sophomore at Purdue University majoring in user experience design and minoring in psychology. She has lived in Carmel, IN most of her life. She displays good skills like communication, leadership, self awareness, and discipline. She knows user centered design processes and looks forward to expanding her knowledge in the field. She has some experience in Adobe software and looks to expand her knowledge on Figma as well. She worked with Omnivis last semester and learned new visual design skills. Emily

Emily Zaretzky is devoted to designing user experiences that exude creativity in the most mundane spaces. Her work focuses on integrating critical thinking, problem solving, and space bending throughout the design process to uncover concealed problems and neglected interactions. She was lead designer at Senteon.co, has interned at Hew Bank of America, and most recently interned at Bank of America. She is currently serving as a volunteer project manager at benefit.design. Katherine

Katherine Barrientos Moreno is a sophomore at Purdue University, pursuing a major in UX Design, as well as a minor in psychology. She has experience working with Adobe programs after taking computer graphics/ graphic design courses for several years, and also has experience working with basic HTML, CSS and Javascript on several projects, such as building websites, mobile apps, chatbots, and video games. She aspires to work in the UX field in the future, with a focus on interaction design and visual design. HPE

Due to covid-19, visiting customer sites to beta test products in their workplace is extremely limited. Conduct ethnographic user research to identify processes and tools that help understand the customer experience of using our products.

Colin, Co-Lead

Colin Mulron is a student at Purdue University studying User Experience Design. As a senior, Colin expects to graduate in the Summe of 2021 and is currently pursuing experience opportunities related to his work. He possesses strong leadership and communication skills developed during his time as President of Phi Sigma Kappa fraternity on Purdue’s campus. He is also involved in mentoring opportunities provided through Purdue University’s UX program, where he provides insights and guidance relating to UX work. Benjamin Frailey is a UX Designer graduating from Purdue’s UX Design program in 2021 with a minor in Communications and Psychology along with a certificate in Entrepreneurship. Benjamin has a diverse background from his time involved in public speaking, designing apparel for a socially progressive fraternity, working with startups, holding down multiple jobs, and more that allows him to excel in UX Writing, Visual Design, and Primary Research. Ethan

Ethan Melton is a Sophomore pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in User Experience Design. He enjoys combining art into the design process with being well skilled in sketching out ideas to help team members better understand and brainstorm different ideas. He is skilled in communicating ideas through sketching to aid in explaining how the designs will look and interact. During his last year of highschool and the first two semesters of Purdue he has familiarized himself with products like Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop as well as learned how to better work as a team to accomplish goals and tasks. Brein Gross is a Junior at Purdue University currently pursuing a degree in User Experience Design with a minor in Psychology. She is learning the ropes of people-centered design and applying her energetic, analytical personality to projects that will propel her into the field after graduation. Veronica

Veronica Tsang is a sophomore at Purdue University studying UX Design. She is from Palo Alto, California, and aspires to work in Product Design. Through her volunteering, clubs, and startup in Hong Kong and the Bay Area, she accumulated international and hands-on work experience. Working at the Google Apprenticeship, she was immersed in UX design, project management, Blockchain, and engineering fields. Volunteering at the VA Hospital for three years sharpened her detail-oriented skills as she tested blood samples, performed data analyses, and assisted in three human autopsies. Skyler

A current Junior at Purdue University majoring in UX Design, Skyler is striving toward a career intertwined with design and technology as one, such as a position within the Disney Company. Skyler is from Oakwood, IL and grew up in a small family. He is currently the VP of Communications of the Pi Lambda Phi fraternity. This leadership position within the fraternity has helped him grow in his problem solving, collaboration, and communication skills. Shelby Benton is a senior at Purdue University studying User Experience Design, pursuing minors in Psychology and Art & Design, and a certificate in Entrepreneurship. As an aspiring User Experience Designer, she thrives in the intersection of design, technology, and interaction. Her design mindset drives her ever-expanding skill set. When designing, she is focused on the utility, usability, and accessibility that is afforded during an interaction. Evan Burr is a sophomore at Purdue University pursuing a degree in User Experience Design with a minor in Management. He has earned multiple top three finishes in startup competitions in conjunction with Google for Startups. Laura

A student at Purdue University, Laura Makary found her passion in User Experience Design with a certificate in Collaborative Leadership and a double minor in Anthropology and Art & Design. She hopes to specialize in user research and attend graduate school further down the line to study design education. Aiden Ringer is a sophomore at Purdue University. He is majoring in User Experience Design. This Is his second year in the program. Kaitlin, Co-Lead

Kaitlin Groothuis is a junior User Experience Design major at Purdue University, minoring in psychology. She was born and raised in Kokomo, Indiana. In a world where societies are increasingly depending on digital products to navigate life, she aims to address community challenges with design. She hopes to be a metaphorical mushroom: decomposing information in order to create meaningful interactions with technology. Her focus right now is on user research and hopes to work at a design consultancy focused on the social sector, healthcare, and government clients. So far, she has worked as a usability consultant intern for two years with science gateways to make highly technical information easy to engage with. She is also working as an HCI research assistant with work centered on resource support for human trafficking survivors. Within her time at Purdue, she has found collaboration, integrative and holistic thinking, and adaptability to be most important to her design process. Interest in picking apart the way people think and act led her to UX Design in the first place. Brigitte Gurrola is a senior studying at Purdue University pursuing her degree in User Experience Design along with the Certificate of Entrepreneurship & Innovation. She has past internship experience at the National Credit Union Administration’s Office of Minority and Women Inclusion and has had the opportunity to collaborate with Avanade, OmniVis, and was a UX co-lead with Indiana Farmers Insurance. Chrissy

Chrissy Chen is a master’s student in UX Design at Purdue, and she received her bachelor’s degree in Information Management from National Central University, Taiwan. She strives to gain in-depth knowledge of interaction design and user research to help her make human-centered and research-driven design solutions. She is currently a usability consultant intern at Science Gateways Community Institute and has helped more than twenty teams improve their gateway experience. Jen

Jen Nazareth is a sophomore at Purdue University in the User Experience Design program while pursuing a minor in Psychology. While still searching for what specialization in UX Design she finds most interesting, she enjoys sketching and prototyping because of how fun it is to watch designs evolve. She has traditional and digital art experience, occasionally freelancing art for her friends’ Dungeons and Dragons game sessions. She is currently trying her hand at front-end development in her classes. Koi Ogden is currently a junior at Purdue University majoring in User Experience Design. Their interest in design is centered around their passion for inclusivity and understanding the world around them. In an effort to communicate effectively and understand others, they are pursuing a minor in Psychology and a certification in Collaborative Leadership. Outside of the classroom, Koi has publicly represented their LGBT all-inclusive multicultural sorority on many different platforms. Christian Espinoza is a Senior at Purdue University majoring in User Experience Design. He is also minoring in Psychology and Communication with a certificate in Entrepreneurship. Christian has a desire to facilitate strategic experiences that positively impact the lives of individuals. He has worked at a company called Codelicious for the past four years. Codelicious is an EdTech start-up that develops STEM based curriculum for K-12. Through his time here, he has been able to take the lead on strategizing curriculum plans and developing an application which is filed for a patent. In his free time, he likes to hang out with his friends or play sports such as soccer or ultimate frisbee. He is also passionate about volunteering through design. He enjoys both the technical and creative side of generating new products. Isabella is a senior at Purdue University majoring in User Experience Design, pursuing a double-minor in psychology and communication, and a Entrepreneurship Certificate. She found her way into the UX program while searching for a way to combine her passion for design, art, technology and psychology. As a designer, she strives to humanize technology by creating simple and meaningful experiences for users. Through classes, Isabella has had the opportunity to collaborate with Microsoft, Garmin, and Innovatemap, which have allowed her to strengthen her research and design skills. Ariana

Ariana Eskew is a junior at Purdue University studying User Experience Design. She is pursuing minors in Psychology and Advanced Global Technology and certificates in Collaborative Leadership and Global Competence. This semester, she hopes to begin developing her design philosophy and explore research opportunities within her department. She greatly enjoys user research and the impact that has on visual and interaction design. Last semester she got to see this in action when working with Cerner in class to design an interactive product to improve mental health. Ishaan

Ishaan Dandia is an undergraduate student at Purdue University studying UX Design and pursuing a double minor in Psychology and Communication. He hopes to specialize in visual design and product management. He is very interested in how people interact with technology and different ways to make the experience easier. He was initially intrigued by UX as it combines his love of technology and art with psychology. Through his love of photography, 2D design, and videography, he has garnered skills in Photoshop, Lightroom, Procreate, and Final Cut Pro. Ishaan also has some programming experience with Python, Java, CSS, and HTML. This past summer, he worked as a digital marketing intern for an e-commerce platform based in South Africa. He designed pages to improve the conversion rate, practiced the essentials of programmatic advertising, and performed search engine optimization. This gave him a lot of valuable experience that improved his knowledge of not only design and marketing, but also the business side of things. Ishaan is very passionate about entrepreneurship and is currently a brother in DMK, Purdue’s Entrepreneurship Fraternity. Becky

Becky Hutzel is a junior at Purdue but a sophomore in UX Design. She is from Lafayette, IN and is passionate about creativity, music, and people! She loves UX design because it creates a space where she can blend these three areas. She started off in Industrial Design and gained skills from this in sketching, Adobe suite, Rhinoceros, and Catia. She is the webmaster/ social media chair for Purdue Outing Club. This position has included tweaking the website’s layout to make it more user friendly as well as trying to reach a broader audience with social media. She also did interface and web design over summer 2019 for a research project called the Biowall. Her work for the Biowall included making an interface completely from scratch to display intricate computer science data in terms everyday homeowners would understand. In addition, she was in a design and fabrication learning community in 2018-2019 in which she utilized the Bechtel Innovation Center’s 3D printers and laser cutters. She is also the social chair of her cooperative house and a member of Purdue UX Design Club. She was an assistant manager at a pool during summer 2020. She had a very versatile role of supervising the operations of the entire pool including following health codes, training workers, staying on budget, and maintaining the landscape. This position relates back to UX design because it grew her teamwork capabilities as well documentation skills. Ellie Kouba is a Sophomore studying User Experiences Design at Purdue University. Ria Sali is a junior in the User Experience Design program at Purdue University. Kanika Rao is currently a junior studying User Experience Design with minors in Psychology and Communication. She joined SCSJ in June, 2020. Her time spent in this position sparked her interests in user research. With her work in the data mine, a learning community, she has developed an interest in learning more about the intersection between UX and data visualization. Kanika is also passionate about further developing her project management skills through leadership and mentorship opportunities. Some of Kanika’s other passions include fashion and music. Alex Gearhart is a sophomore in Purdue’s User Experience Design program and is minoring in communications. He spent last summer in an online internship with Landon Young and has continued working for Landon part time during the semester. Matthew Will is a first semester Junior at Purdue University, and is in his second semester within the UX Design Program. After taking his first Learning Studio and Experience Studio courses in the Spring of 2020, he has gained a more nuanced understanding of UX principles and methods, as well as having the experience of being immersed in a UX Research team for Indiana Farmers Insurance. This semester we will be working with HiDelta to create a solution for university fundraisers to connect in a meaningful way with donors given the fundraisers’ new workflows during the pandemic (if they have changed). We will be assessing the opportunities and pain points between university fundraisers and donors to determine whether or not we need to reevaluate and ideate upon the existing tool or design based on the changes.

Brooke Carney is a junior at Purdue University majoring in User Experience Design and minoring in Psychology. She has an interest in art and technology as well as the psychology behind decision making. She hopes to improve technology and help others through her work in User Experience Design. Connor Schrank is a senior at Purdue University and is in his third year of studying UX Design with a minor in Film and Video Studies and a certificate in Collaborative Leadership. Evan Voss is a User-Experience Design student at Purdue University who is also pursuing a psychology minor. Seniors approaching the age of 65 need a way to better understand and select the best Medicare plan for them. Our task is to research what information our users, seniors approaching the age of 65, will need to understand about the different avenues of Medicare. We will apply what we learn in an interactive high-fidelity prototype to help make the process easier.

Janhavi is a sophomore at Purdue University, majoring in User Experience Design. She is passionate about redefining the way design is viewed.
