1. New Business

-               A plan was assembled for the upcoming REM audit:

o   Email sent to ENE community outlining timeline and audit preparation (JF by 9/23)

o   ENE Safety Committee members will audit all ENE lab and office spaces (ENE SC by 10/21)

-               OSHA audit conducted of WANG week of 9/12.  There were two findings in the ENE area.  Both were corrected in the moment:

o   Ladder stored in front of electrical box in B098 that did not allow for 36” clearance.  Ladder removed.

o   Clearance too great between grinding wheel and tongue guard in AFL.

-               The results of the Shelter-in-Place investigation of WANG was discussed.  Recommendations are summarized below:

o   Third Floor – modify the following rooms to allow for locking from the inside:

§  Copier closet

§  Conference Room Closet

§  Inspire storage area

§  (3) interview rooms

§  (2) focus rooms

§  Collaboration East room

o   Fourth Floor – the layout of the fourth floor allows more options for escape.  There are few spaces available for shelter-in-place.  Rick will obtain a floor plan for WANG and the ENE safety committee will consider alternatives.

2. Review of College of Engineering Safety Committee Meeting Minutes

-               Need to find a graduate student representative for the Safety Committee.  Matt Ohland to pursue.

4. Review of Near Miss Log

-               A student has been bringing a six foot long skateboard to class, which creates a hazard during passing periods.  Matt Ohland to address.

5. New Items

-               No new items.
