Safety Committee Meeting Minutes

Purpose: Bi-weekly meeting of the ENE safety committee

1. New Business

-               A plan was finalized for the upcoming REM audit:

o   Email to be sent to ENE community outlining timeline and audit preparation (JF)

o   ENE Safety Committee members will audit all ENE lab and office spaces (ENE SC by 11/4)

-               One more open item was addressed from the OSHA inspection of ARMSTRONG:

o   Supplies in the first aid cabinet with expiration dates will be monitored and replaced by Grainger. They will be inspected weekly and replaced as needed.

-               Jeff and Rick to contact REM for Lockout/Tagout training for the 3DPC.

2. Review of College of Engineering Safety Committee Meeting Minutes

-               No COE meeting since last ENE meeting.

3. Review of Open Safety Items List

-               Need to find a graduate student representative for the Safety Committee.  Matt Ohland to pursue.

4. Review of Near Miss Log

-               Contact was made with the student with the over-sized skateboard.  He will no longer transport it down the stairs to the basement.  Alternative storage in Phil Qualio’s office was provided.

-               No new items.
