Here are the winners:
- The Champ: Taicheng Guo (KAUST, Saudi Arabia)
- First Runner Up: Allan Henrique Kamimura (Universidade de São Paulo, Brazil)
- Second Runner Up: Chi Zhang, Zihao He, Yue Li (Xi'an Jiaotong University, China)
- Special Computer Society Award Winner: Fahmi Noor Fiqri (Universitas Pakuan, Indonesia)
- Audience Choice Winner: Bohao Liu, Zhenfei Luo, Lulin Liu (Xi’an Jiaotong University, China)
The GSC-21 started in May 2021 and the first round involved the student teams solving the two challenge problems. They were evaluated based on their implementations and the reports explaining the results. The two problems were:
1. Analyzing computer system usage and failure data from Purdue's central computing cluster and predicting if a job is going to fail or not. [ WWW ]
2. Analyzing sentiments in Tweets related to the COVID-19 pandemic. [ WWW ]
The 5 finalists presented to a team of judges on Sep 14 and 16. Below are their presentation videos and slide decks. You can vote on which contestant you thought did the best job. The winners will be felicitated on Oct 8 at the 9th IEEE International Conference on Cloud Engineering (IC2E).
