Purdue Policy Research Institute (PPRI), in partnership with the Office of Global Partnerships (OGP), is proud to host Professor John Blaxland, one of Australia’s leading experts on international security, intelligence, and Indo-Pacific strategy.  A former senior military intelligence officer and defence attaché, Professor Blaxland is now Director of the ANU North America Liaison Office and Professor of International Security and Intelligence Studies at the Australian National University. He is the author of many books, monographs, and official histories on security, defence, and Australia’s intelligence community, and offers commentary with New York Times, The Guardian, The Diplomat, ABC, CNN, and BBC.

His keynote, Global Security Challenges: A View from Down Under, explores how today’s strategic challenges, from great power competition to climate disruption and technological transformation, appear when viewed through an Australian lens in the Indo-Pacific. It’s a timely opportunity for students and faculty to engage with the perspective of a close U.S. ally navigating the evolving poly-crisis and gain insights on how to think critically outside the U.S. perspective.

Registration recommended. Parking available in Discovery Park lot next door to DLR.
