Dr. Beth M. Holloway
Director

Dr. Holloway has been the Director of the Women in Engineering Program since 2001. She received a Ph.D. in Engineering Education and B.S. and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue and worked as a research and development engineer for Cummins, Inc. for 9 years. In addition to directing the Women in Engineering Program, Beth serves as Purdue's SWE advisor.  She is a Past President of WEPAN (Women in Engineering ProActive Network) and was on the Board of Directors from 2005-08.  She has been a Faculty Fellow at Earhart Residence Hall, and was on the Board of Directors of the Engineering Alumni Association from 2006-09.

Dr. Jennifer Groh
Associate Director

 

Dr. Groh joined the WIEP team in 2009.  She received a B.S. in microbiology from Purdue University, and a Ph.D. in microbiology from the University of Oklahoma.  Prior to joining WIEP, she was the Graduate Program Coordinator in the Purdue Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering. As Associate Director of WIEP, Jennifer administers the undergraduate Mentee & Mentor Program and the Graduate Mentoring Program, teaches the Women in Engineering seminar, and oversees WIEP's K-12 outreach programming.

Ms. Sue Bayley
Outreach Coordinator

Sue received her B.A. in Elementary Education from Purdue with a kindergarten endorsement. She joined the WIEP team in January 2014 with experience teaching in multiple grade levels as well as experience in management and business. Sue is coordinating all K-12 outreach programs.

Ms. Cathy Deno
Administrative Assistant

Cathy has served as a member of the WIEP staff since 1984. She works with WIEP's WE Link recruitment program, the Mentees & Mentors Program for undergraduate students, and the Graduate Mentoring Program. She assists in the hiring and supervision of student leadership teams for these programs and coordinates the employment & payroll processes for over 100 students who serve on a variety of WIEP leadership teams. In addition, Cathy handles the tracking and reporting of expenses for WIEP programs.

Ms. Dawn Mikels
Administrative Assistant

Ms. Mikels joined the WIEP staff in 2005.  Dawn provides assistance to the Director and Associate Director of WIEP.  She serves as the liaison to other university departments, faculty, alumni and corporate partners.  She works with our outreach programs; assisting with Engineering For Your Imagination, Introduce a Girl to Engineering, and K-5 Programs.  She coordinates our recruiting events; Exploring Engineering at Purdue days for high school juniors and seniors.  She also partners with the Society of Women Engineers in preparation for the Annual Awards Banquet.

Ms. Julia Wiener
Graduate Professional Assistant

Ms. Wiener volunteered with the Innovation to Reality (I2R) outreach program in 2010-11. The following year, she began serving as coordinator for our I2R and Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day (IGED) outreach programming.  She is a doctoral student in the Ecological Sciences and Engineering Interdisciplinary Graduate Program. Julia received her B.S in Industrial Engineering from the Universidad Nacional de La Plata, Argentina.

Ms. Rebecca Scott
Graduate Student Assistant

Becca Scott began working as a member of the leadership team for the Imagination, Innovation, Discovery, & Design (I2D2) outreach program in 2011-12.  She currently serves as the coordinator for our I2D2 and For Your Imagination (FYI) programming.  Becca is a doctoral student in the Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering.  She earned her B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Saint Louis University in 2010.
