EEE Research Seminar – March 29

The speaker for the EEE Research Seminar on Wednesday, March 29th is Dr. Urs von Gunten, Full Professor at Eawag, Swiss Federal Institute for Aquatic Science and Technology and EPFL, Swiss Federal Institute of Technology. Refreshments will be provided. (See flyer attached below).

Job Corner with Ms. Whelton, PE

This section is prepared for the newsletter by Ms. Margaret Whelton, PE. She is the EEE Manager of Industrial Experience. The responsibilities of this position include working with industry to secure internships, co-ops, and full-time job opportunities for students; developing real world senior design and research projects; and facilitating partnerships between industry and Environmental and Ecological Engineering. She has twelve years of experience as a practicing environmental engineer prior to becoming part of EEE. She is a registered professional engineer in Indiana, Virginia, and Alabama.

If you are looking for job opportunities there is still time. I will continue to send emails about opportunities.

The CCO is a great place to find both full-time and internship related opportunities. I don't post their opportunities. If you don’t have a CCO account or haven’t looked at it this semester, please go to here. The jobs tab of Linked In is another great way to look for jobs or even using general job search engines. Don’t forget that research counts as related experience!

There is one more career fair to look for job opportunities, the Just in Time career fair on April 19th. There are also informational sessions still going on which are a great way to connect with employers. Currently Manhard Consulting and NextEra Energy are companies of interest that have sessions coming up after spring break. Keep checking to see if more are added and to see if there are others that interest you.

The CCO is also hosting a virtual negotiation event. Might be good to attend. I'm also here to help you with your personal negotiation, job offer, career path and resume. Just email me at mwhelton@purdue.edu to make an appointment.

I hope everyone had a relaxing and refreshing spring break!
