Postdoctoral Position Opening in the Laboratory for Sustainable Manufacturing

A postdoctoral position is available immediately for a highly motivated individual. The successful candidate will engage in multidisciplinary research with Dr. John Sutherland (Professor and Head of Environmental and Ecological Engineering, EEE, at Purdue University) and the Laboratory for Sustainable Manufacturing (LSM).

The successful candidate will have an outstanding record of scholarship related to manufacturing, and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment. Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential. The applicant should possess a Ph.D. (soon to be completed or recently completed) in Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a closely related discipline.

Salary based upon qualifications and experience. Benefits are included.

The LSM is applying the principles of environmental sustainability to manufacturing. Current areas of research include smart/sustainable manufacturing, circular materials economy (including recycling and remanufacturing), green manufacturing planning, energy efficient manufacturing, and environmental impacts of manufacturing processes. Lab researchers have disciplinary backgrounds in such disciplines as environmental, mechanical, industrial, and manufacturing engineering. Our team is conducting impactful, innovative research at the interface of manufacturing and the environment. Our goal is to provide high value to our stakeholders while ensuring that the lab researchers grow professionally and ultimately serve as leaders in sustainable manufacturing.
