University of Puerto Rico President Speaks on Renewable Energy

Dr. Jorge Haddock, President of the University of Puerto Rico and Purdue graduate, discussed the future of renewable energy as part of the Purdue’s 150th Anniversary Ideas Festival. He also spoke on how Puerto Rico is examining a switch to 100% renewable energy.

Following Dr. Haddock’s presentation a faculty panel on "Sustainability Energy Production" was held. In addition to Dr. Haddock, the panel included Prof. Luciano Castillo (Kenniger Professor of Renewable Energy and Power Systems in Mechanical Engineering), Prof. Rakesh Agrawal (Winthrop E. Stone Distinguished Professor of chemical engineering), and Prof. Maureen McCann (Professor of Biological Sciences and Director of the Energy Center in Discovery Park). The panel was moderated by Prof. John W. Sutherland (Fehsenfeld Family Head of Environmental and Ecological Engineering).
