Three EEE graduate students recognized at College of Engineering awards program

Three Environmental and Ecological Engineering graduate students were honored at the 2018 College of Engineering Graduate Student Research, Teaching and Service Awards Ceremony on April 24.

Matt Triebe was the recipient of a College of Engineering Outstanding Graduate Student Service Scholarship. This scholarship is presented to engineering graduate students who have provided outstanding service to the graduate school community, the School, the College, and/or the University. Triebe is co-advised by Dr. John W. Sutherland (Professor and Fehsenfeld Family Head, Environmental and Ecological Engineering) and Dr. Fu Zhao.

Hongyue Jin was the recipient of an Estus H. and Vashti L. Magoon Award for Excellence in Teaching. These awards are given to outstanding teaching assistants in memory of Estus H. and Vashti L. Magoon who influenced the lives of many engineering educators early in their careers. Jin is co-advised by Dr. John W. Sutherland and Dr. Yuehwern Yih.

Ehsan Vahidi received an Outstanding Research Award from the College of Engineering at Purdue University. This honor recognizes outstanding Ph.D. candidates who have demonstrated excellence in research through publications, recognized contributions to the research field and society, leadership within a research community, academic achievements, and participation in professional societies. Vahidi is advised by Dr. Fu Zhao.
