PGSO will be holding callouts on 1/24 (Friday) in FRNY B124 at 12:30 – 1:30(shouldn’t take that long) for two positions for the Spring semester: Industrial Liaison and Historian.

Plus, Pizza will be provided to all members of the ChE PGSO following the election!!

More Information: 

The Industrial Liaison is the face of the PGSO for industry and will be in charge of assisting with hosting company events such as Webinars, Info-sessions, and Plant Tours. PGSO’s focus for this semester will be primarily on Industrial and Company-related events, specifically with companies such as Catalent, Swift Fuels, Cook Biotech, and academia such as Birck Nanotech, LyoHub, and the Davidson School of Chemical Engineering. (I’d highly recommend running for this position so that you get as much face-time with industry reps.)

The Historian serves primarily as a transitional role between PGSO’s year-to-year and is the primary method for knowledge transfer; you’ll use the Spring semester to get familiar with the inner-workings of the PGSO and assist with the transition during the Fall semester. This position is only available for those who will be part of the PMP during Spring 2020 and Fall 2020.

Election Proceedings:

A candidate can contest for only two positions. However, in the event a candidate is not elected to either of the two positions of his/her priority, he/she may run for another open position that has no candidates. Each candidate can prepare a 3-minute presentation or speech, which includes a brief introduction and their ideas for the position/PMP student body. The candidates will present to all the PMP students present at the meeting, who will then vote for their preferred candidate. Ballots will be cast using Hotseats, a mobile web application that will require a laptop or smart phone to cast your ballot, so be sure to bring one of these devices, if you want to vote. The elections will be facilitated by the 2019-2020 E-board members and the Graduate Office.
