A site visit was organized by PGSO team on March 21st, 2019 to Swift fuel facility in West Lafayette, Indiana. The tour started at 3 pm with an attendance of 20 students. Chris D’Acosta, CEO of Swift Fuels - a global leader in the development of high-performance unleaded aviation fuels welcomed students and shared words of wisdom regarding safety, work ethics, his company’s vision and mission. The one and half hour tour was guided by the Chris and Don Bower, Vice President. They spoke about reactor scaling up, flare stack, tanks, blending process, difference between lead free and lead fuel. PGSO members and the Swift Fuels’ team had a detailed discussion about the company’s future goals, challenges, current competition, marketing and expansion.

Later, Chris had Hot Pot dinner with PGSO members in China 1 restaurant, which was a unique experience for everyone. Over dinner, Chris and the group discussed about diversity of the cohort and challenges regarding job search for students. Overall it was a great learning experience for PGSO members to gain insight about the company from the CEO.
