Hamid Dalir

Dr. Dalir is the Director of the Advanced Composite Structures Engineering Laboratory (ACSEL) at Purdue University. He is also a Full Professor of Mechanical Engineering with dual appointment in the Motorsports Engineering Program. He was the Technical Director of the Syracuse Center of Excellence for Analysis and Design as well as an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Syracuse University from 2015-2017. Dr. Dalir served as a Senior Airframe Structures Engineer at Bombardier Aerospace from 2011-2015. He was a Post-doctoral Research Associate at Polytechnique Montreal from 2009-2011. Dr. Dalir is a Senior Member of AIAA, IEEE, ASME and ASC. Dalir’s research interests are in the fundamentals and applications of sustainable and lightweight functional materials and manufacturing. Dr. Dalir has co-authored over 100 peer-reviewed archival publications. His research is supported by NSF, DOE, DOD, and NASA, besides several foundations and industries including racing OEMs, and their suppliers. He has supervised over 50 graduate students and postdocs, and many undergraduate students.
