Welcome to i2Engineering

Our research group explores student conceptual understanding in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) courses. Our research team examines learning through a self-regulated learning framework. Within this framework we view learning through constructivist and embodied cognition lenses, and student decision making through an expectancy-value lens. From these perspectives, our research examines how learning environments, pedagogical practices, and learning technologies affect student learning, interest, identity, motivation, and decision making.

Our lab made a recent appearance on Dr. Ruth Strevler's podcast discussing our work on embodied cognition and learning technology. Listen to the the episode here.
