Two Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) Program students are joining the Yu Lab this summer.

Dr. Denny Yu and his research group welcomed juniors Yiyu Shi and Yan Ni Ding for the summer program.

Shi, from Shanghai, China, is working on quantifying the ergonomic impact of microscopes, loupes, and video displays equipment on microsurgeons’ risk for musculoskeletal injuries.

Ding, from Malaysia, is researching methods to leverage Smart Infusion Pump data to improve patient care, provider workflow, and usability, with the long-term goal of improving the usability and application of smart infusion pumps in complex, high-workload health service systems.

The SURF program is helping students across engineering, science, and technology disciplines discover a world of opportunity available to them through research. By closely working with other creative and innovative people, students explore, discover, and transform ideas into reality to advance society and improve people's lives.
