Job Corner with Ms. Whelton, PE
If you are looking for summer job opportunities there is still time. I will continue to send emails about opportunities.
The CCO is a great place to find both full time and internship related opportunities. I don’t post their opportunities. If you don’t have a CCO account or haven’t looked at it this semester,
please go to here. The jobs tab of Linked In is another great way to look for jobs or even using general job search engines. Don’t forget that research counts as related experience!
There are two more career fairs to look for job opportunities. The Ag Career fair is February 28th from 10 am -2:30pm in the CoRec. It is not on career fair plus app. Since it is through the College of Agriculture you will need to look at the majors that are environmentally related. You should be able to see the majors and specific positions
here. Directions on filtering jobs through the CCO system are given
here. The companies attending, website, and description of each business is found
here. Remember any company that makes something needs an environmental engineer for environmental regulations, not to mention sustainability goals.
The final career fair of the semester is the
Just in Time career fair on April 17th. In addition,
informational sessions are still occurring which can be a great way to connect with employers. Keep checking to see if more are added to the CCO calendar.
The
Pacific Northwest National Laboratory has a four day virtual event from February 26-29th at 4-7pm ET where you can speak with current staff and recruiters about job opportunities. You will need to register at the link to access this event. They are doing some interesting work in energy (fossil, nuclear and renewable) including remediation.
The CCO is also hosting a
virtual negotiation event. Might be good to attend this on March 26th at 5pm, if it fits your schedule. You will need to register to attend. I’m also here to help you with your personal negotiation, job offer, career path and resume. Just email me to make an appointment.
The CCO is also hosting several workshops specifically for international students. In particular there is a
workshop on sponsorship and works visas on March 19th at 5pm. It is virtual and you must register prior to March 17th to be able to attend.
Need a professional outfit for an interview or EEE’s recognition night on April 25th? The CCO has a
career closet where you can get a professional outfit for free!
